Disaster Recovery & Preparedness

The best way to recovery from disaster is to be prepared for disaster. At Spark the Change Colorado, formerly Metro Volunteers, we are the community's experts in disaster preparedness and effective volunteerism during and after disaster.

With the current COVID-19 Pandemic, there are many ways to support your local community in the face of disaster. Here are some things to consider:

    1. Healthy individuals are needed to help with the day-to-day operation shelters for men, women and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness. We are working to ensure that shelter guests can properly distance from others, feel valued, have a healthy meal and get medical care they need.  Volunteers will need a background check, be health checked upon arrival and must wear a face mask.  If you can help, please click here and notice the COVID Shelter Volunteer opportunities.

Spark the Change Colorado is partnering with Catholic Charities and the State of Colorado to help rebuild and rehab flooded homes across Colorado. This will be a 2-year project with the State of Colorado, and we look forward to serving families in need everywhere.
