Service Enterprise
A Service Enterprise is an organization that uses volunteers and their skills across all levels of the organization to successfully deliver its mission. This national initiative, led by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, helps nonprofits rethink the way they use volunteers to address community needs.

Volunteer Engagement Training Program (VETP)
Spark the Change’s updated Volunteer Engagement Training Program (VETP), formerly the Volunteer Management Training Series (VMTS), consists of six modules created by the Points of Light Institute and updated in 2020. Classes are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the major components of nonprofit volunteer engagement. Earn a Volunteer Engagement Certificate and start developing volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition strategies and methods of offering projects for diverse audiences.

Listen Learn Act Academy is Spark the Change Colorado’s newest co-generational program, combining the strengths and wisdom of two different generations – Seniors 55+, and 5th graders – to participate in action projects that spark positive change in a chosen issue area.

Youth Resources
About 15.5 million youth volunteer, providing 1.3 billion hours to community service projects each year! That's 55% of young people ages 12 to 19, which is close to double that of adult volunteerism. Youth who volunteer are more likely to feel connected to their communities and, do better in school, and are less likely to engage in risky behavior.

Civic Circle Discussion Series
Spark the Change Colorado will host our second cohort of the new Points of Light Civic Circle Discussion Series in 2023. Participants of this series will come together once a month for 90 minutes. To better serve the entire state of Colorado, this cohort will meet virtually. In each session, we will take a deep dive into one of the nine elements of the Civic Circle using toolkits provided by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service.
