What is a host site?

Host sites are community-based organizations that host volunteer mental health practitioners who provide services to their clientele at no charge. Host site partners include mental health centers, schools, homeless and domestic violence shelters, and many others.

How it works:

Spark the Change Colorado recruits and supports volunteer mental health professionals in providing a variety of services to the clients and staff of designated host sites. Services include assessments, counseling, support groups, and more. These win/win partnerships garner clients for the Pro Bono Mental Health Program while expanding the services available to host site clientele.

What you can expect:

A Mental Wellness staff member will conduct a preliminary host site needs assessment and site visit to determine the type of volunteer services and qualifications that will prove most beneficial to the host site. Host sites will receive volunteer referrals based on host site needs and volunteer availability. Potential host site partners should be aware that it can take time to recruit a mental health professional who is just the right fit for their organization and its mission.

How to become a host site:

  • Determine whether your organization’s clients could benefit from the services of a volunteer mental health practitioner.
  • Determine whether there is space available within your organization in which volunteer therapists can meet with clients.
  • Complete the host site application and liability form. To receive the forms, please email Cindy Williams at cwilliams@sparkthechangecolorado.org.
