The Supervisor Program aims to eliminate barriers to mental health care while simultaneously developing more licensed clinicians in Colorado. Our program places candidates for licensure at host sites in the community where they can engage in meaningful volunteer work, providing mental wellness supports to low-income Coloradans and those who serve them. In exchange for this service, candidates are eligible to receive free clinical supervision from a volunteer therapist in our program. The Supervisor Program additionally supports host sites in extending their capacity by enabling graduate internships (with MSW, MA, Ph.D. students) through the provision of clinical supervision. Supervisors must be independently licensed in the state of Colorado.

Taking on the role of supervisor carries risk. Our program is no exception. Volunteer supervisors are required to interview interns and candidates independently to ensure that they feel comfortable with the level of service the intern/candidate can provide, in the specific setting they are providing it, and that the volunteer supervisor is able to meet the support needs of the intern/candidate.
