Mentoring for the "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County

Due to restrictions around COVID-19, we are currently unable to intake any new Program Volunteers, Tutors, or Mentors. Tentatively, these positions will begin the intake process again during the Spring 2021 semester. We encourage anyone interested in these positions to still apply, as your application will be reviewed and put on hold until the restrictions are lifted. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.

Volunteer Mentors provide a source of guidance and support and act as an additional positive role model for a Dreamer Scholar. Mentors and Dreamer Scholar Mentees are matched according to similar interests. They develop and establish a safe, meaningful, and trusting relationship whilce spending one-on-one time together outside of the classroom doing fun, safe, and free or low-cost activities together. The mentor relationship focuses on sharing social and life enrichment experiences rather than academically focused.

Volunteer Mentors are mission driven positive adult role models, who have a positive attitude, are engaging, reliable and good communicators. They should have a genuine interest in IHDF’s mission. These individuals receive satisfaction knowing they filled an essential role in the mentee’s positive development and growth.
