Move Furniture and Deliver Hope!

Move Furniture and Deliver Hope!

We are in need of several volunteers to assist in making houses homes! The Donation Center is our sorting hub of all donations that come to Partners in Housing, and this is where we make the decision whether to put items out for families to shop or to pass them along to other organizations that are in need. All items donated from the community are given to Partner Families (families in the Partners in Housing program) at no cost. Along with smaller household items, we also are able to accept donated furniture for Partner Families, which is where you come in!

Partners in Housing is a non-profit that provides transitional housing to families experiencing homelessness in Colorado Springs. Throughout their year in the program, families will have access to self sufficiency classes, job readiness programs, budget counceling, child support, and more. After entering the Partners in Housing program, 90% of families find stable housing. When you volunteer to move furniture at the donation center, you are giving mothers in the Colorado Springs community a chance to rebuild their home and work towards stability, self-reliance, and prosperity.

Job Definition: We are looking for a volunteer who will assist in pick-ups and deliveries of furniture either from donors or to families in the Partners in Housing program. This is a wonderful opportunity to help single moms make their house a home after coming from the instability of homelessness. At this time, our box truck is out of commission to make deliveries, although when we have enough items to deliver, we will be renting a U-Haul to make one large trip when needed.

*If you are interested in using your own personal vehicle to deliver furniture, this is also an option.

Job Specifications: Able to lift and move furniture.

Each volunteer must complete a volunteer application, sign a confidentiality release form, and pass a Colorado State Criminal Background Check.

Qualifications:

  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Ability, interest & motivation to pick-up furniture donations from the community
  • Ability, interest & motivation to deliver furniture to our single moms
  • Ability to adhere to our confidentiality requirements

Volunteers must complete paperwork, background check, and initial training prior to their first shift.
