Spark the Change Colorado is excited to launch the Raising Kindness program with two events in April 2019!

This new and creative program will connect school-aged children to community issues in the Denver Metro area through impactful monthly hands-on service learning projects. Hands-on projects provide interactive learning activities with the goal of teaching the power of volunteerism, leadership and community engagement. Youth will have the opportunity to locally practice kindness while encouraging the development of empathy, gratitude and positive self-esteem.

In April, we are partnering with Family Tree, a non-profit human services agency that provides innovative, life-changing services designed to end child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness. 200 Raising Kindness volunteers will have the opportunity to complete multiple hands-on service learning projects to benefit the 26,000 clients of Family Tree in the greater Denver community. Projects at this event will include decorating spring themed table decor for the shelters, creating kid themed hygiene and/or activity kits, as well as participating in an age appropriate educational activity about homelessness.

Our goal is to create volunteer projects that will be impactful, inclusive, fun and engaging for all school-aged children and families. Projects will address issues and serve populations in our community including animal welfare, children, disabilities, disaster relief, education, health, homelessness, hunger, environment, seniors, veterans, women and more!
