Volunteers with Impact & Purpose

Volunteers with Impact and Purpose (VIP) is a group of people 50+ that combine doing good through hands on and skills-based volunteering for local nonprofits with having fun and developing a network of great friends you might not otherwise meet.

VIP offers volunteer project opportunities for a range of causes at least once a month. Projects are carefully selected to help nonprofits throughout the Metro area meet their mission and expose VIP members to local issues and innovative community solutions. We believe making volunteering both impactful and fun helps build a community we can all be proud of.

Help “Wear Out Poverty”!

On Thursday, July 25, 5:30 – 7 pm we will serve Soles4Souls. We’ll learn about this social enterprise nonprofit, learn how they create jobs and provide relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world and have fun getting to know each other!

We will meet at Soles4Souls’collection and distribution warehouse at 5158 Parfet Street #5 Wheat Ridge, CO. We will sort shoes at the warehouse, tying pairs together with their shoelaces or with rubber bands and placing 10 pairs of shoes in bags.

Feel free to bring any gently worn shoes you, your family, friends or neighbors want to get rid of!

Please wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. We will provide drinks, including water and yummy refreshments. The warehouse is temperature regulated.

The used shoes we will be processing will go to helping entrepreneurs in places like Haiti, Nicaragua, Honduras, Moldova, Sierra Leone and Malawi create sustainable income for themselves. In fact, just ONE pair of shoes can provide FIVE meals for a family in Haiti. What an impact!

Please RSVP for this event at lkinder@sparkthechangecolorado.org.

We will provide you with exact directions to the warehouse as GOOGLE MAPS will not get you to the warehouse.

Looking forward to seeing you at this fun, social and interactive project!
