SparKnowledge Mental Wellness Continuing Education
SparKnowledge is designed to support the ongoing education and professional development of mental health professionals. Part of the Supervision and Workforce Development Initiative, we aim to provide accessible, high-quality education opportunities for those dedicated to enhancing mental wellness in our communities.

SparKnowledge offers a range of continuing education courses either free of charge or at a minimal cost, ensuring that all mental health professionals, regardless of their financial situation, have the opportunity to grow and excel in their field.

Upcoming Trainings & Education
Psychological First Aid - February 21, 2025 at 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Psychological First Aid (PFA) is a process for helping people after they experience a traumatic event. The goal is to provide safety, stability and resources after they have experienced a life-changing episode. By providing PFA , PFA increases people's resiliency by allowing a safe place to talk about their trauma, fears or symptoms associated with mental illness. PFA is not therapy. PFA provides help grounding people, providing resources and a chance to reconnect with friends, family and/or other caregivers. This is a free, virtual event via Zoom. Registration is required. |
About the Presenter:
Bob Froug (MA, Counseling) will be our presenter for the Psychological First Aid event. As a retired mental health professional with 22 years of experience, he has generously donated his time to sharing his expertise with our volunteers. He spent 15 years working at a local community health center and an additional six years as a clinician with the Aurora Police Dept and the Douglas County Sheriff's Dept Crisis Response Team. He has shared that a highlight of his career was being one the clinicians involved in the Aurora Theater shooting trial in 2015. Bob hopes this will be the first of many speaking engagements with the SparKnowledge project. Welcome Bob!
