Spark the Change Colorado is initiating an ongoing "Movement of Good" campaign in response to the heartbreaking shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs, which targeted the LGBTQIA community—the latest in an unending string of mass shootings that continue to plague our communities. The impact of this event and others like it has left the LGBTQIA community feeling devalued, feeling unsupported, and feeling immense fear while simply living their every day lives. We have come together as an organization to say enough is enough. We believe the only way to combat anger, violence, and ignorance is with love, community, and understanding.

About 15.5 million youth volunteer, providing 1.3 billion hours to community service projects each year! That's 55% of young people ages 12 to 19, which is close to double that of adult volunteerism. Youth who volunteer are more likely to feel connected to their communities and, do better in school, and are less likely to engage in risky behavior.
